Review Methodology

Our ranking is editorial. Commission rates do not determine provider position. We score the parts of a Usenet service that have a measurable effect on access and usability.

We review advertised retention, real plan limits, simultaneous connections, server geography, SSL support, included search/newsreader tools, trial or refund conditions, network/backbone relationships and total subscription cost. Provider specifications are checked against official pages, while backbone relationships are cross-checked against current community maps and technical research. Prices and retention numbers change frequently, so every data table shows a verification date.

Primary sources

  • Official provider plan and help pages
  • Official retention, server and connection specifications
  • Current independent backbone maps and technical community research
  • Pricing captured on the verification date shown on the site

Update policy

Prices, promotions and retention can change without notice. We timestamp comparisons and update material changes rather than silently presenting old numbers as current.
